New Ivanhoe Knights President – Rachel Mansfield
After a period of 6 years as President of the Ivanhoe Knights Basketball Club, Tim Butler handed over the reins at the last AGM to Rachel Mansfield. Tim has been involved with the Knights since his sons started playing in 2003 and has been instrumental in developing policies, streamlining procedures, building the website, and representing the Knights in lobbying the local council and state Govt for facilities to replace those lost at Banksia. Tim will continue with the club as a referee coach, and as the President of the Ivanhoe Darebin Basketball Association (a merger of the Ivanhoe Knights and Darebin Giants that took place in August 2016). His vision for the Association is to build the Association to provide better opportunities for players, coaches and officials, and improving the skills of all of them.
Rachel has been a hard working member of the Knights committee for over 5 years. Managing trophy’s, assisting with selection, coaching, team management and taking on the envious task of court bookings and allocations. Rachel’s husband David is one of our senior coaches and also a hard working member of the Knights and they have 3 children playing at the club. Rachel’s hard work and enthusiasm will ensure the success of the Ivanhoe Knights for years to come.
